We did it, Joe! We raised $1,500!

A special thanks to those who attended our fundraiser, or sponsored an instructor. With your generous donations and ticket sales, we were able to raise $1,500 for Camp OFLA, Ohio's only elementary, residential world language summer camp. This money benefits education for students grade 3-8, and is a great way to support those with a unique interest in languages.

But this is about so much more than a fundraiser. It's about what happens when a creative community decides to show up for each other, the next generation, and for the state they love.

Toledo has always had what we consider a thriving arts scene. From the Toledo Museum of Art (which is one of the finest in the country) to the local markets and storefronts. There's really no shortage of talent or passion here.

Midwest Crafting Crew started as a gathering place. Since we didn't have our own space, we rented, and it became an effort to provide affordable and unique crafting opportunities to Toledoans. We wanted you to learn something new, laugh a little, and walk away with something handmade and meaningful. What it's grown into is something even better: a community that lifts up local instructors, celebrates creativity, and now gives back.

When we decided to partner with Camp OFLA, it felt like a natural fit. Mostly because we knew Jesse, one of the directors. But also, because education, creativity, and community all connect. As an educator myself (Makayla, here, old-timey English teacher turned creator) providing for the future and boosting education in the process is one of the highlights of getting involved with your community. Kids that attend these camps often leave with a spark for something more, and they deserve every opportunity to nurture that. So do the instructors who pour their hearts into teaching them.

We still have time to hit that $2,000 goal, and we'd love nothing more than to get there together. Classes are running through July, and a portion of all ticket sales will be contributed to Camp OFLA in the hopes of passing the $2,000 mark and getting some additional instructors to assist.

For the next class, bring a friend. Try something new. And know that when you do, you're part of something that goes beyond the craft table.

Never stop being amazing, Toledo! Thank you.
